Setting the Stage for the 2019/2020 Season

Keyano Theatre Company announces their 40th Drama Series

Theatre is alive and well in Fort McMurray, and we’re in for a wildly entertaining 2019/20 season! Keyano Theatre Company (KTC) is celebrating their 40th season of community theatre, bringing laughter, drama, and back bending acrobatics to the stage. Theatre; Just Because (TJB), an independent theatre company focusing on artistic development and exploration presents a season featuring zombies, commedia dell’arte, and the ever-popular Waypoints fundraising dinner theatre! Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA) North Zone is returning in the spring with Acting Out! One-Act Theatre Festival, a wonderful venue for adults to get creative, take on something new, and learn from the experience. Don’t forget to check out the various school productions as well.

Theatre; Just Because is also building on their mission of encouraging local artists to develop their craft and take ownership of their work, adding a diverse lineup of theatre-based workshops throughout the season, in addition to the existing New Play Development program which will continue to nurture local playwrights who are looking for feedback on their work, writing resources, and best practices.

Anyone, and of all experience levels, can be involved in theatre in Fort McMurray! You can volunteer backstage, attend workshops, direct a one-act, or why not give acting a whirl and audition for the wide variety of productions presented this season. See you at the theatre!
